for the record, I totally have a Shelfari account! it’s plain and boring and I refuse to “complete my profile” by adding every single scrap of personal info it asks for, but I’m still using it as a way to keep track of everything I’ve read this year. My goal was at least 50 books for 2011, and while I’m falling a bit behind schedule, I think I might just make it by December 31st. if you’re using the site too, add me, and we can both partake in whatever benefits Shelfari friendship affords us; and if you’re not using the site, feel free to peruse everything I’ve read recently and JUDGE ME.
also! I hate to plug Amazon again (Shelfari.com is owned by Amazon) but I really couldn’t have read as much as I have without the benefit of their Kindle system. it’s a really great way to always have my books on me, and I like the ease with which I can immediately swap over to the next title in my “to read” pile without having to silently curse myself for only carrying one book with me. you can damn e-books all you want (because they don’t smell old or feel old or crack or whatever your reasoning is) but I bet you didn’t know you can steal books off the internet the same way you steal music and movies! ha ha ha, READ, ASSHOLES.
